Ladysmith Maritime Festival. Saturday, May 29 & 30, 2010

Ladysmith Maritime Society (LMS) is once again hosting an exciting Maritime Festival on Saturday and Sunday, May 29th and 30th, 2010, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Our Festivals have attracted over 3000 people and are growing each year. We wish to invite you to participate in our 2010 Festival as a vendor.

We have an interesting way of charging for space at our Festival that we think you will appreciate. We normally charge a minimum fee of $50 for a 10' x 10' space - but this fee will be waived if you purchase advertising in our 4 page Festival Flyer. There will be 22,000 copies distributed in the communities of Ladysmith, Chemainus, Crofton, Duncan, Cedar and Lake Cowichan, including 3000 in the body of the Chronicle on the week prior to Festival day.

Most commercial and service venders took advantage of this offer last year, due to the value of the advertising offered. We expect to see a greater number of businesses taking advantage of this offer for the 2010 Maritime festival.

Please check Exhibitor Advertising Application (click here) for rates and offer.

Of course if you do not wish to take advantage of this offer, you can still apply for vender space at the nominal $50.00 per space. Just fill in the Vendor Application Form (click here) and forward it with your cheque to reserve your space.

We are planning a great mix of entertainment for the whole family, including Heritage Boats, Chemainus First Nation canoe presentation, LMS's Maritime Museum on the docks, lively music, artists, entertainers, educational, commercial, and food booths, special events for kids, a webcam to view the purple martins nesting, free harbour tours and sailing demonstrations by the Cowichan Independent Living, Adaptive Recreation program. This is, of course, an event we host for the enjoyment of the community and admission is free.

If you choose to participate in our Festival, please note that exhibitors need to bring their own tent and table and we may be able to provide limited fresh water and electricity upon request. Of course, you must also have your own liability insurance, if required. (You'll find details on the vender application). Set up of your space will be available from noon Friday the 28th and you must be fully ready by 9.00 am Saturday the 29th. Security will be on site Friday night.

Finally, just in case you don't know us, we'd like to give you a little background about Ladysmith Maritime Society and Community Marina. As you no doubt know, we are a volunteer operated, not-for-profit organization that has preserved, promoted and celebrated Ladysmith's "Heritage by the Sea" for many years. We have restored several heritage boats and are always improving our award-winning floating museum at our docks. We operate a vibrant, growing marina that serves our community and welcomes many visiting boaters.

We hope you will join with us for what promises to be a most enjoyable day, Saturday, May 29th, at our annual Ladysmith Maritime Festival.
